The Hmong people are descendants of Asian heritage who originated from China, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. The Hmong are a society of refugees who have been spread across the world due to war and conflicts occurring in these regions. They have most recently begun settling in the United States and due to their collectivist culture 98% of them have settled in Minnesota, Wisconsin and California.
The Hmong have begun adapting to life in the United States quite well and they are actually very successful even though they are the youngest culture in our nation. Although they have done much to adopt American culture they still have not forgotten theirs. The Hmong are very traditional and live a collectivist lifestyle that keeps family close so they can maintain their traditions and remain close to family which is quite important in a country as large and diverse as the United States.
